AcuYin Bliss for the Kidney and Bladder Meridians is a two-hour workshop at Tranquil Space Arlington THIS Friday, February 27th from 8-10p taught by Jodi Knauer. This workshop includes 60 minutes of a focused Yin Yoga practice followed by a balancing (optional) ear acupuncture treatment received during a long restorative savasana. The spirit of the Kidneys (or Zhi), which is most active in the Winter is responsible for courage and wisdom. An imbalance can be experienced if feeling overworked, exhausted or having an inability to face one’s fears. Emotional and physical symptoms of an imbalance of these meridians include chronic fatigue, hormonal conditions such as hyper/hypothyroidism, anxiety, back pain, high blood pressure and insomnia.Yin Yoga is a practice where one holds asanas or poses for anywhere between three to five minutes working into the deep connective tissues of the body increasing mobility and flexibility in the joints. This practice works with the Meridian energy lines of the body by unlocking the fascia. Physically this workshop will focus on opening the entire back body including the hamstrings and the front body lines including the inner thighs and hip flexors.
Ear Acupuncture has a long history of use in China and is a complete medical system in Chinese Medicine. It was mentioned in the most famous of ancient Chinese medical textbooks, “The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine.” In modern times, auricular therapy has been shown to stimulate the release of endorphins, the body’s own feel-good chemicals. Your Savasana will include one or two acupuncture needles in each ear. These auricular points help to alleviate stress and anxiety while aiding to balance one’s energy. Please be sure to eat prior to our class.
Class size is limited, sign-up online today here.
