Taoism is an ancient philosophy of Chinese origin that emphasizes living in harmony with the “Tao” or way of nature. Common Taoist themes revolve around the ideas of effortless action, virtue, and non-attachment. This workshop, guided by Kimberly Bingaman, will take place this Sunday, January 25th from 10am – 12pm at our Dupont studio. The workshop will include an introduction to the philosophy of Taoism and the benefits of integrating Taoist practices both on and off the mat. We will explore ways for yoga teachers and practitioners to integrate Taoist thought into classes and home practice through readings, asana, breath work, and meditation. This workshop will include an experiential practice integrating meditation, philosophy, and movement, so come prepared to flow.
