Can I say the whole class? That the whole class is my favorite part? But I especially love centering, when students begin to settle into their breath and body, and when the energy of the room shifts to a calm.

Where did you grow up?

Downtown Chicago, right by the zoo.

Favorite book?

The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri.

What inspires you?

Art museums, being outside, live music, my family, and my friends.

Favorite food?

Anything that could be considered breakfast.

Favorite restaurant in DC/VA/MD?

In the land of the hip and cutting-edge restaurant, my favorite is the Dupont location of Le Pain Quotidien.

Favorite yoga pose and why?

Trikonasana, triangle pose. My legs feel strong and stable, my spine lengthens, and my chest opens from the slight twist. There’s a lot going on and it all feels wonderful.

Favorite holiday?

Thanksgiving – for the family, friends, and all of the side dishes!

Favorite album or artist?

José Gonzalez. His voice stirs my soul.
