Embracing Joy Through Gratitude with Abby Saloma

A November 23, 2010 article in The Wall Street Journal entitled “Thank You. No, Thank You” indicated that grateful people are happier and healthier. G.K. Chesterton said, “I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.” In this workshop we will explore ways to develop a gratitude practice on and off the yoga mat. We will start by showing gratitude toward ourselves through meditation, followed by a slow flow vinyasa practice full of heart openers to send gratitude outward. Then, we will weave together some journaling and discussion about how even the simplest techniques to express gratitude off the mat can be transformative in our daily lives. Finally, we will end with a series of restorative poses.
