Looking to bring a more personal touch to your holiday gift giving this year? Been harboring a desire to explore needlecrafts, but didn’t know where to start? Join me to explore needlecrafts and begin to work on gifts in preparation for a Handmade Holiday.

This series will help to kickstart your exploration of the needle arts or help you find more needlecrafters within the TS cOMmunity. All needlecrafters are welcome (knitters and crocheters).

For those new to needlecrafts, Lisa will help you with the basics of crocheting (and can answer basic knitting questions too). If you don’t have supplies, Lisa will have a handful of basic supply kits at the first lab containing 1 each: size H crochet hook, skein of washcloth cotton, interlocking stitch marker, and darning needle (to weave in those pesky ends). (Supply fee of $10 to be paid to Lisa.) Lab participants are welcome to bring their own supplies too.

Interested in working on projects with others in the cOMmunity? Patterns for a crochet-a-long will be provided as follows:

September 28th, 7:30 PM–9:00 PM—A Day at the Spa—Face cloths or face scrubbers, pair with some body wash or scented soaps for a thoughtful gift.

October 26th, 7:30 PM–9:00 PM—(Not Your) Granny’s Squares—Basic granny square pattern. Granny squares are back in style. Sew a few together to make a stylish and warm scarf, throw for the couch, reusable market bag…the list goes on and on.

November 23rd, 7:30 PM-9:00 PM—Keeping You Warm—Simple coffee cup cozy, mesh cowl, and basic hat. Pair the coffee cup cozy with a reusable cup and some hot chocolate for a quick, simple, and thoughtful holiday gift for your child’s teacher or a friend.

Participants are asked for a suggested donation of $5 to support the studio’s charity of the month:

September—Whitman Walker Clinic

October—Tranquil Space Foundation

November—Wounded Warriors Project

All workshops will include a short yoga stretch break midway through to help release wrists, hips, shoulders, and back. So, wear comfortable clothes, grab your hooks or sticks, and join us to start on your Handmade Holiday!

E-mail Lisa (lisacalandriello@tranquilspace.com) with any questions.

Namaste, Lisa
