Favorite part of teaching yoga?
Crafting a creative and fun new playlist each week never gets old, and whenever I see a student singing or bopping along to a song during class I always think “Mission Accomplished!”
Where did you grow up?
Austin, TX!!!! (Once fall rolls around you can expect to see my cowboy boots on a regular basis.
Thanksgiving!! Tons and tons of delicious food combined with getting to hang out with my awesome family – what could be better?
The entire Harry Potter Series – though book 4 and 7 are tied for my favorite. Also LOVE Ruth Reichl’s Tender at the Bone.
Favorite yoga pose and why?
Whatever is the most recently-conquered pose in my arsenal, because finally getting into a pose after months of working at it is just such a thrilling feeling! So right now it’s crow and koundanyasa, as I’ve just now started to be able to stay “in flight” in those poses. Just for a few seconds, but still!
Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove. Seriously. It’s HILARIOUS.
What inspires you?
The possibility of creating and living my dream life. I’m still working on figuring out exactly what my dream life looks like, but as each new facet of it becomes clear, I am immediately inspired to do whatever it takes to achieve it!
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” – Albert Einstein
Favorite Album or Artist:
Uh, just one? I’ll narrow it down to 3, but with great difficulty: Pearl Jam’s Ten, Sarah McLachlan’s Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, Sublime’s Sublime. Yes, I am a child of the 90’s.
