A common definition of autoimmune disease is an illness that occurs when the body tissues are attacked by its own immune system. When one is diagnosed with such a condition, it can be overwhelming and emotional, knowing that this disease will likely require lifelong management and treatment. While partnered with effective medical treatment, a Yoga practice can provide a potent tool in helping to manage the disease, and maintain quality of life. These Eastern practices focus on building on strengths in the body to maximize health and functioning. Using the principals of Ayurveda (The yogic “science of life”), a practitioner can pursue optimum health through a diet based on his or her own temperament.
Nandini Kadambi will be leading this workshop, which consists of a discussion portion where attendees can gain a basic understanding and summary off of which to begin their own journey with Yoga for health, and a practice bringing to fruition the concepts discussed.
This workshop will take place on Sunday, October 13 from 1 pm to 3 pm
at TS Dupont.
This workshop is a works of love by our teachers in the Advanced Teacher Training program (ATT). They represent their central thesis work and involve a lot of passion, study, research, and hard work. All are welcome, but space is limited.
