Learn to teach Baby & Me, Prenatal and Tots & Tykes Yoga!

Have you wondered how a woman’s practice is different once they have a baby?

Carol Collins (E-RYT, 500-RYT) is offering her Postnatal Teacher Training starting this Saturday, September 21. Learn about the physiological and psychological needs of postnatal women and the developmental milestones for babies 6 weeks to 12 months. Learn how to teach a class that includes both parent and baby, observe baby and me classes, and practice teaching a class!

Carol has been teaching baby and me yoga classes for 10 years and has trained with Karma Kids and Mary Barnes. Carol developed her own style of Baby and Me Yoga when she became a mother herself.


Would you like to teach Prenatal Yoga or deepen your understanding of teaching this unique group?

Anne Thiel (E-RYT 500, PhD) is offering her Prenatal Teacher Training in October where she draws her on her experience as a midwife in Germany, is a certified prenatal teacher and has 11+ years of experience teaching Prenatal yoga. This training will cover:

  • Anatomical and physiological particularities of pregnancy and how they pertain to the yoga asana practice
  • Recommendations for a pregnant woman in a regular yoga class
  • Developing a well-rounded prenatal yoga class
  • How to integrate childbirth preparation into your prenatal yoga classes
  • Practice-teaching with instructor and peer feedback

The training will be held:

  • Sunday, October 13 – 9:30 – 2:30 pm
  • Monday, October 14 – 9:30-4:00 pm
  • Sunday, October 20 – 9:30-2:30 pm

Want to share the joys of yoga with the 4 and under crowd?

Siobhan Carranza (E-RYT) will be offering a Tot & Tyke Yoga Teacher Training in October. She started teaching this age group in 2008 after finding very few options for her own 15mo old. This training will give you the tools and guidance to lead a class for crawlers to 4yr olds and have a blast while doing it.

Once babies become mobile it can be hard to find activities to do with them especially yoga. In this training we will explore activities and yoga poses that are appropriate for crawlers, toddlers and 2-4 yr olds. Time will be given to practice teaching them, discuss how to approach and engage this age group while basking in the joy that only this age can share.

The schedule includes observing Siobhan teaching two 45-min classes:

  • Friday, October 18, 9:30-4:00pm
  • Saturday, October 19, 10:30-3:30pm
