March Team Player of the Month: Alyson Latham

Team Player - AlysonFavorite part of yoga?
Everything!?! I typically attend class in the morning and I love the way it gets me started for the rest of the day. I love walking out of the early morning classes after the sun has risen after arriving in the dark, a new day has dawned and I am ready to tackle it. Everyday is a fresh start and I like how the peacefulness of yoga brings me into my own and helps me keep an open outlook on where the new day will take me.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Eldersburg, Maryland–not far from Baltimore (Go RAVENS!)

Favorite book?
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. I absolutely love the story. My Mom had the soundtrack to the musical and I used to listen to it a lot when I was younger, when I was 13 I got to see the musical for the first time and soon after read the book. I’ve read it many times since then and take something new from it each time.

Favorite movie?
It’s a Wonderful Life (and it doesn’t just have to be Christmas for me to watch it)

Dream vacation or favorite vacation you’ve ever been on?
I’ve had some pretty amazing Europe vacations and I always love the beach, but my favorite vacation is probably 2 summers ago when my grandfather took myself and his 5 other grandchildren on a week-long cruise from Baltimore to Bermuda. The 7 of us had a great time together and made memories that will stay with us forever. I am very grateful that we were all able to take that trip together.

Favorite yoga pose and why?
Pigeon! I provides such an amazing release how can you not love it!

Three people, living or deceased, who you’d invite to the same dinner party?
My Mom, Jack White, and Ray Lewis. It may seem like a very random group of people, but I’m sure the conversation would be AMAZING.

Favorite holiday?
Christmas, I love all of my family’s traditions and spending time with my family and friends just relaxing and enjoying each others’ company!

Favorite album or artist?
Jack White. I love every project he’s been involved with from The White Stripes to the Dead Weathers to his recent solo album and everything in between. As far as I’m concerned he’s a musical genius.
