My favorite part of teaching yoga is the energy of my students. I love to observe my students as they sit on their mats before practice. As you begin to center you can start to feel what kind of energy the practice will have for that day. I am inspired by the movement of music and enjoy creating sequences that match both the energy of the students and expression of the poses everyone takes based on where they come to their mat that day. The energy of each individual student creates a unique practice for everyone. It helps guide and move me as a teacher to know how deep they want to take their practice through the art of assisting during class.

Dream vacation or favorite vacation you’ve ever been on?
My favorite place to vacation is France. I’ve been all over the country and I’m in love with the different regions. I spent time living in France in high school and college and it became an even more memorable place when my husband proposed to me in Cannes in 2006.
Favorite yoga pose and why?
Happy Baby. I’m always surprised by how vulnerable the position makes you feel, but also amazing and comforting at the same time. I love seeing reactions as students to come into happy baby during practice. You see students in heaven and happy melting into the pose as they include it in their final poses. It’s a comforting reminder of our childhood as a restorative finishing pose.
