Last Sunday, we held a one hour slow flow/restorative karma yoga class at the Tranquil Space Dupont Circle studio to benefit Women for Women International. We did this as part of our Karma Yoga Project as teacher trainees enrolled inTranquil Space’s 200 hour teacher training program. Stephanie P took a few moments before the class began to provide an overview of Women for Women International and shared personal stories of what it is like to sponsor sisters and volunteer in their DC office. We were also gratified to answer questions about the organization from class attendees after the class as well! In total, we were able to raise over $200 for the organization!
We wanted to take a moment to thank all those that helped get the word out-including many of the tranquil space teachers who mentioned it as part of their announcements before their own classes prior to the event as well as many of our other teacher trainee colleagues who helped promote it and to the Women for Women staff including Jennifer Morabito and Sara Grigera.
We’d also like to thank all those that attended our class on Sunday and donated to the organization, including several of our teacher trainee colleagues, family members and friends! Last but definitely not least, we’d also like to thank all our tranquil space teacher trainee colleagues for their support and all the Tranquil Space teachers that helped us throughout the training including Kimberly for her inspiration, Siobhan for her help in setting up the event, and Kevin, Dave and Melissa for their help in the planning stages.
