In my personal experience, yoga can be one of the most healing practices around for those who have ever struggled with their body image. Yoga has the power to teach students how to really accept their bodies and be in their bodies, and as both a teacher and a student, I’ve seen this transformation occur many times. Because of my passion for this subject and my true interest in the topic of Yoga & Body Image, I’ve decided to study this subject for my Advanced Teacher Training Thesis.
In my research on this topic I hope to study a number of subjects, including personal experiences and stories (both mine and those of some of my students), yoga and the media/advertising industry, yoga community movements for promoting yoga for ALL body types and body image issues, and how to teach a class that is welcoming to all body types, shapes, and sizes.
So this is where you come in, Tranquil Space yogis! I need your help!
If you’re interested, I’d be ever-so-grateful if you would fill out my Yoga & Body Image Survey. You can skip any questions that don’t apply to you or resonate with you, but I’d love to hear your point of view and experience with this subject.
The survey is anonymous and there are only 10 questions. You can complete the survey here. To read more about my thesis subject and why I chose it, check out my blog.
Thanks for considering and participating! If you’re interested in the subject, I’ll be presenting my thesis paper in the summer, and would love for you to attend
P.S. If you, too, are passionate about this subject and would like to share your personal story with me in more depth, I’d love to interview you! Feel free to reach out to me with your interest at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
