Preparing for the Holidays with Restorative Yoga

Have you always been curious about, but never been able to attend a restorative yoga class at Tranquil Space? Looking for a way to unwind and de-stress from the hustle-and-bustle of the holiday season? Join Mary Catherine this weekend at Tranquil Space Arlington for a restorative yoga workshop geared to doing just that–releasing tension from the body and taking some time to completely relax.

Restorative yoga typically consists of using blankets, bolsters, and other props to support the body in various relaxing (and comfortable!) poses, and we often hold the poses for extended periods of time in order to get to a deeper state of relaxation. For a few examples of Restorative poses, you can check out Yoga Journal’s website, here.

Interest piqued? If so, the workshop will be taking place this coming Saturday, 12/10, from 5-7 pm. Mary Catherine will be leading a 45-minute slow flow vinyasa practice followed by 1.15 hours of restorative yoga, meditation, and savasana. We will spend time in poses meant to release emotions and stress, cleanse and heal the body, and calm the mind.

And during this busy holiday season, who couldn’t use a little more of that?
