Looking for something exciting to do this weekend now that September has settled in a little bit? We’ve got two great options for you!
The ChariTea Swap Shop is happening this Sunday, September 18 from 11:00am-2:00pm.
Transform your season wardrobe overhaul into a fun fashion affair. Bring your underused clothes to our first swap and leave with some sparkly new-to-you clothes. What could be more green than recycling your old treasures for new ones?
We ask that each tranquil chick* bring a minimum of 10 pieces of clothes and accessories in good condition to contribute. We also suggest wearing layers to make wardrobe transitions easier for your impromptu cat walks in other swappers wares! As with all Tranquil Space events, tranquility is served: tea, cookies, and strut-worthy tunes will adorn the affair. Plus wildflower seeds will be distributed to all participants to sprinkle tranquility on a barren patch of soil in your neighborhood. Early registration is encouraged, limited space available.
Remaining clothes will be donated to N Street Village, a community of empowerment and recovery for homeless and low-income women in DC, and donation entry fees will be given to My Sister’s Place, a non-profit serving battered women and their children in DC.
Can’t make it? You can make a “there in spirit” $10 donation.
*This event is chicks only!
If the Swap Shop doesn’t sound appealing to you, perhaps a little stress-reduction would. Kevin is hosting a Yoga for Anxiety workshop on Sunday, September 18 from noon to 2:00pm.
You will explore the mind-body-spirit connection through lecture, pranayama, and asana. Discover how yoga and meditation can be used for constructive self-study. Learn how yoga may be used for moving through anxiety. Practice relaxation techniques to soothe the nervous system; while cultivating internal harmony and balance.
