Team Player of the month: Julie Urda

Julie serves as Recruiter and HR Generalist for the nonprofit international public health organization, Management Sciences for Health. Her work includes sourcing and securing global health experts to work with local stakeholders, both within the public and private sector, to improve the health of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people. Julie focuses primarily on staffing high-impact USAID-funded programs that work to enhance access to and improve the use of essential medicines and other technologies to fight against HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria and other communicable diseases. Previously, Julie recruited for international stability-focused development projects at DAI, where she helped organize the first USAID-funded teams to enter Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. Julie’s recruiting career started in legal recruiting; where in what seems like a different lifetime, she recruited corporate associates and partners in NY and DC after graduating from The American University Washington School of Law.

An avid distance runner since high school, Julie started practicing yoga in 2009 at Tranquil Space – and fell in love. Now she only wishes she’d come into the studio earlier! Julie’s amazed by all of the kind-hearted, talented yogis she’s had the opportunity to meet, including those she’s had the pleasure to work with on the Tranquil Space team as a SA Most of all, she’s super suprised and humbled to be considered Team Player-of-the-Month!
