September guest muse: tranquility is the watchword

Kimberly normally muses in this space, but she’s currently recovering from her second (and final) surgery of the year to fix a nagging thumb joint. In the interests of sparing everyone pain medication-fueled creative writing (as entertaining as that might have been), we decided I should take the reins temporarily this month. We’ve got a busy September, but as always… tranquility is the watchword!

As we transition into fall this month, I’m reminded how it’s always the ideal time to re-center as we leave behind the slower, dog days of summer. I love the change of pace, the cooler temperatures, and the chance to reconnect with people after many tend to scatter away from the DC area for the latter part of August. I’m happy to share some of the fun things we have to share with the Tranquil Space community in my favorite month of the year!

September marks our third anniversary in Arlington. It was quite the adventure moving and setting up the new space, and we’re so happy to offer a larger space and expanded offerings to the Arlington community. If you haven’t come by yet, you really should check it out. River Studio is the largest studio in the entire Tranquil Space universe, and we’re slowly adding some extra touches. We have some great offerings coming to Arlington after Labor Day, including a new early morning class, plus a prenatal and restorative class. Check the Arlington schedule for more! Also, be sure to celebrate our new studio opening on Friday, September 17th. Stay tuned for more information!

We’re gearing up for the launch of Advanced Teacher Training and the first fall Level 2 teacher training offering at the Dupont Circle studio… if you’ve ever thought about becoming a yoga teacher or deepening your practice, consider our teacher training program! Our faculty includes some of the great Tranquil Space teachers you know and love, and the groups for both ATT and TT2 are shaping up to be great!

You might have also noticed a big change at… we completely rebuilt the website from top to bottom, giving it a more modern look and better integrating the blog and other social media components. Lots more to come there too, so stay tuned!

Have a happy and healthy Labor Day weekend and stay dry… I hear there’s a hurricane coming!

Tim, you should muse more often. Kimberly get better and rest as much as you can.
