savor simplicity

“simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” – leonardo da vinci

this time of the year can get a bit harried so i wanted to share a few ways to savor simplicity (and, ultimately, tranquility):

light a scented soy candle
warm by a fire
do yin yoga (preferably in front of the fire)
roast marshmallows
sip hot cocoa with marshmallows on top (best part!)
stack your books by subject
decorate a live tree and then plant outside post-holiday
make popcorn – yum!
toast to a life well lived
sip tea by candlelight
nap and truly daydream
indulge in a mid-day bubble bath
take 10 deep breaths

what are your favorite ways to savor simplicity?

Listening to my favorite new CD with Tibetan and Crystal Singing Bowls – Ron Esposito’s “Open Heart.” It’s more than bowls with tabla, Native American flutes, even guitar. Very musical and wonderful for yoga practice and meditation. I bought it at CDBaby.
