sogbe konate, LMT (swedish & deep tissue massage)
sogbé uses massage as a guide to an individual’s self journey towards healing. she custom tailors each session to address her client’s needs. sogbe specializes in swedish and deep tissue massage and includes stretching, she is trained in healing therapy such as quantum touch and process acupressure.

sogbé is a graduate of the potomac massage training institute in washington, dc and nationally-certified (ncbtmb). she is also a professional member of the american massage therapy association.

sogbé was born in france with west african origins and works as a personal trainer in cleveland park.

anne thiel, LMT, ayurvedic consultant (ayurvedic consultations, swedish & deep tissue massage, thai yoga bodywork)

anne is a licensed massage therapist. she received her training at the local potomac massage training institute. anne specializes in swedish and deep tissue massages and her sessions are influenced by her knowledge of anatomy and physiology but also by her background in Ayurveda and yoga.

anne is also certified in thai yoga body work through the widely recognized lotus palm school. thai yoga is a dynamic yet meditative form of body work that combines movement, stretching and the manipulation of energy lines in the body while the recipient relaxes in yoga-like movements and poses.

anne also is an ayurvedic lifestyle consultant. passionate about the wisdom of this ancient indian healing science, she seeks to help clients identify lifestyle changes that allow them to find more balance and harmony in their lives.

gina tausheck (wellness consulting)
gina chose to become a certified wellness consultant/coach through the american association of drugless practitioners because it was the perfect way of incorporating her love of holistic health, yoga, meditation and zen living. as a wellness consultant she provides a source of support, with the intention of giving people the tools to look deeply within and reach their full potential. her areas of focus include: life balance,weight loss, body image, fitness and exercise, stress management, and nutritional changes.

gina also has a master’s degree in public administration and has worked in human resources for over 10 years. during that time she has developed private and corporate wellness programs focused on creating a healthy lifestyle. she has also worked within the justice system as a life skills mentor and is certified in mrt. (moral reconnation therapy) gina is a certified yoga instructor and currently teaches at tranquil space. she has crafted body image workshops for men and women as well as creating voluptuous vinyasa workshops for curvy ladies. you can learn more about gina at www.lifeinom.com.

dr. rhodo nguyen (naturopathic medicine, colon hydrotherapy)
dr. rhodo nguyen is a licensed naturopathic physician and graduate of bastyr university, the leading accredited college of natural and science-based medicine. a native of seattle, she received her undergraduate degree in zoology from the university of washington.

dr. nguyen’s philosophy on health and illness comes from the first principle of naturopathic medicine, vis medicatrix naturae – the healing power of nature. in essence, the body has an innate ability to establish, maintain, and restore health. dr. nguyen supports this process through a system of medicine that addresses the underlying cause of the illness rather than just the symptoms. using botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, homeopathy, craniosacral therapy, and diet and lifestyle counseling, she offers a holistic, individualized treatment plan to guide her patients through their dis-ease. through dr. nguyen’s gentle approach and education, patients have renewed vitality and a healthy outlook on life. dr. nguyen is also a certified firstline therapy practitioner.

outside of the office, dr. nguyen enjoys yoga, running, snowboarding, cooking, good friends and community service. she is active in HOPE and VOICE, both non-profit organizations that empower and advocate for disadvantaged vietnamese communities. she is a member of the american association of naturopathic physicians (AANP) and washington dc association of naturopathic physicians (DCANP).

kim magraw (swedish & deep tissue massage)
kim was born in san francisco and raised in berkeley by his danish mother and japanese-american step-father. at 18, he moved to colorado springs and spent four years there in college, with a semester in denmark along the way. volleyball has been a big component of kim’s life, and he coached volleyball during and after college. kim stayed in colorado for graduate school – this time in fort collins, and in the middle of grad school, did a two-year peace corps stint in nepal. after finishing his degree kim moved to dc, where his father and step-mother live, and was fortunate to be hired by the department of the interior, where he works with and analyzes federal programs, mostly related to land and resource management. kim’s trajectory was not taking him toward massage therapy, but then quite a few events came together in a fascinating way, guiding him to explore therapeutic touch. he had an amazing educational experience at potomac massage training institute and graduated august, 2009. as a pmti graduate, kim practices client-centered swedish and deep tissue massage. he also recently took a week-long course in massage for cancer patients and cancer survivors. a few other tidbits: he loves to backcountry camp, has five half-siblings, and is a yoga neophyte.

    This is such a cool post and a good idea. Combining yoga and massage is road to a complete relaxation paradise.
